i-Catcher Minimum System Requirements

Below are the recommended guidelines for i-Catcher system specifications. As i-Catcher is a modular system, the requirements will vary depending on the configuration used. Capture resolution, framerate, and amount of motion activity will all contribute to the minimum requirement for satisfactory results, and you are encouraged to download the free 21 day trial of the i-Catcher software to determine what can be achieved on your system.

Additionally, a server requirements calculator is now available to help you to determine the system you need to provide CCTV using the i-Catcher system.

i-Catcher Sentry/Wildlife

  • Processor:Pentium III or equivalent, 500Mhz or higher.
     500Mhz or higher recommended for multi-camera operation
  • Memory:64Mb minimum, 128Mb recommended.
  • Operating System:
     Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4 Recommended)
     Windows XP *
  • Hard disk:10Gb of hard disk space for storing images, fast hard disk drive recommended.

i-Catcher Console

  • Processor:2 Cameras:Pentium III or equivalent, 500Mhz or higher.
     4 Cameras:Pentium III or equivalent, 800Mhz or higher.
     8 Cameras:Pentium III or equivalent, 1Ghz or higher.
     16 Cameras:Pentium IV or equivalent, 2Ghz or higher.
     32 Cameras:Pentium IV or equivalent, 3Ghz or higher.
      (Dual Core CPU recommended for more than 16 Cameras)
  • Memory:128Mb Minimum
     2-8 Cameras:256Mb Recommended
     8-16 Cameras:512Mb Recommended
     32 Cameras:1Gb Recommended
  • Operating System:Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4 Recommended)
     Windows XP *
  • Hard Disk:10Gb of hard disk space for storing images, fast hard disk drive recommended.
  • Graphics card:Fast graphics card. AGP with minimum 32Mb of memory recommended.

i-Catcher Video Server

  • Processor:Pentium II or equivalent, 350Mhz or higher.
  • Memory:64Mb minimum.
  • Operating System:
     Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4 Recommended)
     Windows XP *

* Service Pack 2 is recommended for security and stability reasons, however users of Windows XP Service Pack 1 or 2 may need to configure the Windows XP Firewall appropriately before the "Web View" function will operate correctly.
