Below are the recommended guidelines for i-Catcher system specifications. As i-Catcher is a modular system, the requirements will vary depending on the configuration used. Capture resolution, framerate, and amount of motion activity will all contribute to the minimum requirement for satisfactory results, and you are encouraged to download the free 21 day trial of the i-Catcher software to determine what can be achieved on your system.

i-Catcher Sentry/Wildlife

• Processor:
  Pentium III or equivalent, 500Mhz or higher.
  500Mhz or higher recommended for multi-camera operation
• Memory:
  64Mb minimum, 128Mb recommended.
• Operating System:

  * These operating sytsems will enforce folder virtualisation on the i-Catcher storage folders, causing the recorded history to be relocated to a different part of the hard disk. This will not affect application operation.

  * Windows Home Server only provides a visual interface via terminal services/remote desktop, and as such performance will be reduced in this environment.

• Hard Disk:
  Minimum of 10Gb disk space recommended. Disk space requirements will depend on motion frequency, number of feeds, feed resolution and history retention period. Please see the requirements calculator for an estimate of disk space requirements.
• Graphics card:
  Fast graphics card with hardware acceleration. AGP or PCI Express/PCIe 2.0 16x, with minimum 32Mb of memory recommended.

i-Catcher Video Server

  64Mb minimum.

i-Catcher Go/Pro (iPhone Apps)

• Device:
  iPhone™ or iPod™ Touch.

  Configured WiFi connection or mobile data carrier.

  iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later.
• Additional software:
  • i-Catcher Go: Connection to Console requires version 3.3 build 20 or later.
  • i-Catcher Pro: Connection to Console requires version 4.0 build 40 or later.

Notes regarding 64 bit Operating Systems:
i-Catcher is currently available as a 32 bit application only. 64 bit versions of the Windows operating systems are capable of running 32 bit applications, and in this configuration i-Catcher runs normally (subject to the system requirements above), however no advantage will be gained from running the i-Catcher software on a 64 bit operating system.

Note that for local device (PCI, USB) usage, 64 bit drivers must be used. i-Catcher is capable of making use of 64 bit capture drivers through the Windows 32 bit API layer. No configuration changes or additional software are required for this to work correctly.
