SMS alerts

This alert sends the chosen text message to the specified telephone number.

The message can contain Macros which include dynamic information such as the feed name. Please see the Macros help for more information.

Text message alerts can be configured to hold off sending a message if another message has already been sent recently. The minimum time between messages setting determines how much time must have elapsed since the last message before a new message can be sent.

Text message actions

The text message action type allows you to send a text message. You need to enter the recipient, and a phone number.

The message can contain Macros which include dynamic information such as the feed name. Please see the Macros help for more information.

SMS sending

The primary mechanism for sending test messages is via the iCatcher SMS service, which requires additional registration via the iCatcher Web Site.

Once registered, you need to enter the SMS service details (they default to your registration details).

Text messages use credits when a message is sent, and the number of credits used varies by the destination network. Additional credits can be purchased via the iCatcher CCTV Shop, where you can find more information about pricing and registration.

Alternatively, iCatcher Console can make use of external SMS applications by selecting custom and entering the path and command line. Use [to] to enter the recipients name or number, and [text] to specify the message text. You can normally get the details from the help of the external application.
