Connecting an auto discoverable camera

This includes some cameras that use the ONVIF protocol specification which allows cameras and video servers to be discovered and configured automatically for use in iCatcher Console.

The first page shows all the devices that have been discovered and their current status.
Devices that have already been added to iCatcher Console are hidden by default but can be shown by ticking "Show devices already configured".
If your device is not listed, you need to ensure that it has auto discovery enabled and that it's on the same network as the iCatcher Console.

If your device requires a username and password, then you will need to enter this below the device selection.
Note that these details may not be the same as the normal authentication detail to access your device. Please consult the device's manual or documentation for more details.

The second page allows you to select the video source to use, and a list of supported resolutions.

If the device has PTZ configured for the selected video source, then this will be enabled automatically but you can change this manually by click the "Show Advanced options" check box.

Once these details have been entered, then iCatcher Console will try and reconfigure the camera and show a preview image.

Note that some cameras only have a limited number of configurations so setting the same camera up on multiple Console installations or 3rd party software may cause conflicts in the video configuration.
